Overview
GPS Speedometer (gps-speedometer.com) is a free browser-based tool that shows your current speed using your device's GPS. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. In short: your location data never leaves your device.
How your location data is handled
When you click "Start," your browser requests permission to access your device's location via the standard Geolocation API. The resulting coordinates and speed readings are processed entirely inside your browser to draw the speedometer display. This data is never transmitted to, uploaded to, or stored on any server operated by us or any third party.
Your maximum speed for a session is kept only in your browser's memory and is cleared when you reload or close the page.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use cookies, third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising scripts. We do not build a profile of your visits or movements.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) for security and operational purposes. This information is not linked to your location or speed data, since that processing never touches our servers in the first place.
Children's privacy
This tool does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because no location or personal data is collected or transmitted by the service at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
